Riu Tikida Dunas ★★★★

The Riu Tikida Dunas hotel has a standout setting. Not only is it on its own stretch of hourglass-fine sand, but it’s just footsteps from shops, restaurants, and bars. The centre of Agadir’s only a 10-minute walk away, too.

There are four pools in total. The three outdoor ones come with all the added extras you can think of, like water polo nets, wooden bridges, and palm-dotted islands. Terraces and gardens snake their way between the al fresco pools. Inside, meanwhile, you’ll find another pool which is part of the hotel’s spa.

The main restaurant serves up big buffets for dinner. Expect home-from-home favourites, on-the-spot cooking stations and local specialities. Head to the Moroccan eatery, where you can tuck into succulent lamb or the catch of the day or enjoy the best Asian cuisine in the themed buffet. Tamaris pool bar and restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks and comes with its own terrace offering sea views.
