ITINERARY

Day 1 UK - Lahaina (Maui)

Door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Maui, via Los Angeles. Upon arrival, you’ll have a warm traditional Hawaiian greeting with floral lei, before transferring to our hotel for the next three nights.

Day 2 Lahaina

You’ll waste no time in exploring the incredible scenery Hawaii is famous for today. You’ll head for Haleakala National Park - famed for its towering dormant volcano and breathtaking landscapes. You’ll get a glimpse of local life as you stop by quaint Makawao; browse the independent boutiques in Wailuku; and explore the colourful, rustic seafront community of Paia. You’ll want to keep your camera at the ready for our final stop of the tour: the soaring emerald peaks of Iao Valley (subject to weather conditions). This peaceful, 4,000-acre park is home to some of Maui’s most recognisable landmarks - including the 1,200-ft Iao Needle.

Day 3 Lahaina

Today is at leisure to spend as you please. Perhaps relax on the sprawling beach just in front of your hotel or browse the town’s selection of art galleries and unique shops. For something extra special, you might like to join the optional sunset cruise this evening. Dine under the orange-hued skies as the sun dips behind the islands in the distance - an enchanting way to spend your last evening on Maui.

Day 4 Lahaina - Kailua-Kona (Big Island)

This morning you’ll wave goodbye to Maui as you transfer to the airport for your flight to Big Island. The youngest and largest of the archipelago, the Island of Hawaii has been aptly nicknamed ‘Big Island’. Twice the size of the other Hawaiian Islands combined, it’s home to vivid emerald cliffs and towering volcanic mountains, swathes of golden sand and mist-shrouded valleys. On arrival, you’ll jump straight into seeing some of the best bits right away. Your tour takes us along the Kona Coast to Pu’uhonua O Hanaunau National Historic Park, once the home of royal grounds and a place of refuge for ancient Hawaiian lawbreakers, plus historic Kailua-Kona and Kona Coffee Plantation and Place of Refuge. After your tour, you’ll check into your hotel for the next three nights.

Day 5 Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you’ll head out for a full day of exploration and breathtaking views. At the brilliantly blue Kealakekua Bay, you might be lucky enough to see spinner dolphins swimming and splashing in the bay. You’ll then discover Volcanoes National Park, home to two volcanoes including Kilauea - one of the most active volcanoes on earth. You’ll continue to Rainbow Falls, where the waterfall cascades down over a lava cave.

Day 6 Kailua-Kona

Spend today relaxing on your hotel’s private beach or soaking in the saltwater lagoon. If you’re in the mood for more sightseeing, make your way into town for a wander and spot of souvenir shopping.

Day 7 Kailua-Kona - Honolulu - Waikiki (Oahu)

You’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to Oahu this morning, where you’ll stay in the cosmopolitan capital of Honolulu. Home to historic landmarks, fine dining, world-class shopping and golden beaches, Honolulu is the racing pulse of Hawaii. On arrival, you’ll transfer to your hotel perched on Waikiki beach, and then enjoy the afternoon completely at leisure.

Day 8 Waikiki - Pearl Harbor

You’ll uncover a poignant piece of Hawai’ian history at Pearl Harbor this morning and pay homage to the thousands of soldiers who lost their lives in the 1941 attack. You’ll visit the USS Arizona Memorial and its Visitor Centre, as well as the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific Oahu. Located in a long-extinct volcano called Punchbowl Crater, almost 53,000 veterans (including those who were lost during the attack at Pearl Harbor) are laid to rest here. In Downtown Honolulu, you’ll stop by the Iolani Palace - the official residence of the Hawai’ian Kingdom’s last two monarchs. The rest of the day is free.

Day 9 Waikiki

With beautiful sea views from your hotel and the delights of Honolulu at your doorstep, you might like to spend today at leisure to explore as you please. Alternatively, join the optional excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center and spend the day delving even deeper into the rich heritage of the Pacific Islands.

Day 10 Waikiki

Your final day in your Pacific paradise. Choose to spend it at leisure or join an optional 120-mile excursion around the entire island to see the very best of what Oahu has to offer. You’ll journey from the South Shore, with far-reaching views of the Pacific Ocean, to the towering Koolau Mountain Range and the famous North Shore, where waves pound pristine white sandy beaches.

Day 11 Honolulu - In flight

After breakfast you’ll transfer to Honolulu airport for your return flight to the UK, via Los Angeles.

Day 12 UK

Upon arrival, your vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
