Terraced into a hillside on the edge of Hersonissos, this peaceful hotel is just a couple of minutes’ walk from a sandy beach. It comes with a pool, and a sea-view buffet restaurant that delivers great Greek dishes. There’s an à la carte taverna, too, and a poolside bar that hosts live shows at night. POOL AREAS

Outdoor pool. Spend the day lounging by the large, arrowhead-shaped pool. There are sunbeds dotted on the surrounding terrace if you fancy soaking up the sun, and parasols are available if you'd like some shade. Towels are available for a deposit.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

Ariadne buffet restaurant. Start your day with an American breakfast in the large, traditionally decorated, non-smoking and fully air-conditioned dining room. If you'd prefer, you can enjoy your meal on the balcony, looking out over the sea. There's a Cretan speciality corner alongside the dinner buffet as well as occasional themed evenings and show cooking at both breakfast and dinner. If you need a highchair, just ask one of the waiters.

Snack bar*. Opening Times: [09.00-17.00]. Grab something off the à la carte menu and have a taste of both Greek and international cuisine. From 12pm 'til 3pm light bites are available.

Pool bar*. Opening Times: [17.00-01.00]. Offering a variety of drinks and cocktails, with entertainment here in the evenings. There's plenty of shaded seating here, too.
