Tucked away in the residential Old Town around a 10-minute walk from the beaches of Ponent and Llevant, the California Palace provides a low-key base from which to explore the rest of Salou. You’ve got a cluster of bars, cafes and restaurants just five minutes’ walk away, and plenty more in the centre of Salou.

These modern, low-rise apartments are glass-fronted, which makes for a light and airy feel as you enter the lobby. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. They’re decked out in neutral tones, with wooden furnishings, and feature flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning and balconies.

POOL AREA

You’ll find a decent-sized outdoor swimming pool, as well as a miniature children’s offering and an indoor number. They’re right next to a sun terrace and plenty of sun loungers. Plus, there’s a poolside snack bar, for drinks and light daytime bites.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

The buffet restaurant features a show cooking station, and serves up a range of hot and cold international options, including meat dishes and salads. The lounge bar serves a variety of local, international and premium drinks.

SPORTS & ACTIVITIES

There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, including ping pong, pool and air hockey tables. Little ones are looked after, too – there’s a hotel-run kid’s club, and a children’s playground, complete with slides and rocking animals. Bikes are available to hire, for those looking to explore on two wheels.

There’s a well-equipped gym, with a variety of resistance-training and fitness equipment. The spa comes complete with a sauna, a steam room and a whirlpool bath.
