1

Day 1 - Miami

Arrive in Miami and check into your hotel, spend the rest of the day at leisure

2

Day 2 - Miami - Key Largo 60 Miles

This morning you will pick up your motorcycle and start your ride through tropical paradise. Miami is the mainland city, Miami Beach is the “Miami” you know, a string of islands separating Biscayne Beach Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. Due to heavy traffic, riding around in Miami isn’t a great idea – your best bet is to ride into South Beach. A hundred years ago this was just a mangrove swamp until some developers dredged up sand from the ocean floor, paved the swamp and turned it into a tropical getaway. All the way along the overseas highway (Hwy 1) the roadside is lined by marker posts counting down the miles from Florida City to Key West, addresses usually make reference to these numbers. The overseas highway is the very southern section of US 1, the historic route that winds for over 2,400 miles along the full length of the east coast. From its very inception, this highway has been unique. You head to Key Largo, where you overnight. Key Largo offers many interesting sights, such as the original Africa

3

Day 3 - Key Largo - Key West 110 Miles

Continue on one of the country’s most fascinating rides – the overseas highway now affords longer glimpses of water that shift from emerald green to azure blue. At mile marker 59 you reach the Dolphin Research Center – we recommend a visit – President Carter, Jimmy Buffet, Arnold Schwarzenegger and numerous others have all swum with dolphins here. En route to Key West you’ll cross dozens of bridges, pass over harbors, view the Atlantic waters on one side and the Florida Bay on the other. The Keys are as much Caribbean as Floridian, and you can’t get this far from the American mainstream without leaving the country anywhere else. Key West itself is quite unique, a laid back community, and still one of the most lively and anarchic places in the USA. Sights of interest ranging from Ernest Hemingway’s home and the famed Sloppy Joe’s Bar, to the Edison Home and a chance to get your photo taken at the end of the road, the southernmost point in the United States. Overnight.

Day 4 - Key West - Florida City 130 Miles

You take Hwy 1 and are off to Florida City today. This is your entrance to Everglades National Park. Covering over 1.5 million acres at the far southwestern tip of mainland Florida, the Everglades National Park protects the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. A fair portion of the park is actually underwater, and the entire Everglades ecosystem basically a giant, slow-flowing river that is 50 miles wide, but averaging only a few inches deep. The Everglades are under constant threat, yet seem to vibrate with life. Some 300 species of birds breed here, as do 600 different kinds of fish and animals, ranging from rare manatees to abundant alligators. You overnight in Florida City.

5

Day 5 - Florida City - Naples

This morning you have time to explore more of the Everglades before you continue north towards Naples. Take Hwy 997 north and then enter Hwy 41 all the way to Naples. Naples is the crown jewel of southwest Florida, nestled on the sundrenched beaches of The Gulf of Mexico, a splash with water lovers and recreationists. Overnight.

6

Day 6 - Naples - Orlando 235 Miles

You are riding along Florida’s west coast – Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Venice, St.Petersburg, Tampa – on Hwy 41. Florida’s west coast embraces all the extremes, buzzing, youthful towns rise behind placid fishing hamlets, mobbed holiday strips are just minutes from desolate swamplands, and world-class art collections vie with glitzy theme parks. Surprises are plentiful, though the coast’s one of constant proximity to The Gulf of Mexico – and sunset views rivaled only by those of the Florida Keys. In Tampa, the west coast’s largest city, you get on Hwy 4 and head to Orlando, where you overnight.

7

Day 7 - Orlando - Miami 250 Miles

Orlando is home to Disneyland, Universal Studios and Sea World, and you might want to take time this morning to visit one of these theme parks. Later make your way over to the east coast (Hwy 1) and ride down to Miami. Upon arrival in Miami it will be time to return your motorcycle and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.

8

Day 8 - Miami - UK

Today your exciting trip will end with your departure flight back home.
