The family run Grand Hotel Hermitage is nestled high on a hillside, overlooking the bay and Mount Vesuvius. It’s a 10-minute walk to Sant’Agata, where you’ve got a handful of cafés and restaurants. Plus, the hotel puts on a free shuttle to Sorrento.
The hotel oozes old-world charm with white-washed walls and gardens full of olive and fruit trees. Inside, rooms are colourful with Sorrentine floor tiles and antique furniture and all come with air-conditioning. There’s twin rooms which for a bit extra can come with a larger balcony and sea views. The annexe rooms are about 150m away from the hotel and up a steep incline.
It’s all about the views at this hotel, whether it’s from the restaurant or pool. Food-wise, breakfast, lunch and dinner are taken care of by the à la carte restaurant, while the bar serves up evening drinks.
