This supersized hotel is located on a private 800-metre beach, where you can sometimes spot nesting turtles on the sand. Inside, all rooms are junior suites with hydro massage tubs, and many of them have sea views.

Tropical gardens surround the three linked, lake-style pools. Here you’ll find lots of activities, like water polo and pool volleyball, as well as aqua aerobics classes.

The main buffet restaurant serves international cuisine. Or you’ve got the option of grabbing some fast food at the snack bar, or dressing up and heading to one of the four à la cartes. The steakhouse serves Tex-Mex, along with dishes like spicy quail with wild rice. There’s also an Italian, a Japanese and a gourmet restaurant offering experimental cuisine.

There are seven bars dotted around the hotel. You’ll find live music in the lobby bar. Or, if you’d rather watch the match, there are big screens at the sports bar. You can also try karaoke at the piano bar. There’s an amphitheatre, which lays on a programme of live entertainment. And later on, you can head to the hotel’s Ska Disco.

Beach activities include volleyball, snorkelling* and kayaking*. You can also try your hand at scuba diving* – there’s a PADI school here – as well as jet-skiing*. Sports-wise, there’s football and volleyball, as well as aerobics and dance classes.

The spa* does the full list of treatments and massages. You can also have a thermal-bath experience – it’s got pools of differing temperatures, plus saunas, foot baths and an ice fountain. You can have your hair done at the beauty salon* – they do everything from bridal styles to Caribbean braids. And the nail technicians do traditional and French manicures, as well as paraffin spa pedicures.
